The Electronic Studio Artist will demonstrate a professional attitude and commitment to deliver work as it relates to preparing and setting up electronic mechanicals. Work will be performed according to agency job flow procedures, will meet deadline commitments and be delivered with the highest degree of accuracy.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all jobs according to the mechanical checklist for First Mechanical, Final Mechanical, Pre-press and FTP
  • Setup jobs according to spec sheets provided by production. Review specific instructions, including die strikes, folds, tabs, pockets and color, making sure you have a clear understanding of the project
  • Sign in and assess the project, ensuring that all directions are clear and queries are answered. If there are any unforeseen problems inform Project Coordination of additional time required to complete the assignment
  • Double-check all work, pay attention to details, indicate in the designated orange pen where specific items may have been key stroked or where layout adjustments were made
  • Follow established departmental procedures for naming conventions, making sure job folders are organized and are backed up properly to the appropriate directory on the server
  • Proactively seek work from the Electronic Studio Manager and/or peers to assure continuous job flow and minimize downtime between assignments
  • Practice quality control in all aspects of the role
  • Maintain accurate time sheets

  • Uphold agency quality standards in servicing the Client
  • Assist other members of department as needed
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by the Electronic Studio Manager



  • College degree
  • Coursework in graphic arts preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in advertising, desktop publishing or relating industries
  • Technically proficient in InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, and Acrobat, plus a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Understanding of the production process as it relates to preparing electronic mechanicals including die strikes, color separations, and the printing process
  • Prior experience in healthcare is beneficial
  • A good sense of graphic design and typography along with comping skills a plus
