Responsibilities:

  • Proactively works as a core team member together with Account, Channels and Innovation, Medical and Creative Team on each brand.
  • Provides a deep understanding of the behaviors, drives and motivations of the target customer and the brand and ensures both are top of mind throughout the entire strategic and advertising development process
  • Uncovers customer insights and identifies strategic opportunities based on these insights
  • Identifies brand equities, personality, and positioning
  • Takes the lead writing the Creative Strategy
  • Briefs the Creative Team
  • Supports the Creative Team throughout the creative development process (provides research results and other stimulus materials)
  • Perseveres in nurturing and championing the “big creative idea”
  • Understands and champions “the Brand”
  • Responsible for the Research function internally
  • Builds a strong day-to-day partnership with clients and research colleagues on each of the brands
  • Gives research input into design of qualitative and quantitative studies conducted by Client Research Group
  • Attends research meetings with Client Research suppliers
  • Attends Client meetings when strategy and creative work are presented

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal/people skills
  • Possess both intuitive and analytical skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Experience conducting focus groups and one on one interviews
  • Passionate about understanding customer motivations
  • Driven by a desire to “dig beneath the surface” to uncover insights
  • Expert in qualitative research methods and has familiarity with quantitative methodologies
  • Strong marketing and strategic skills
  • Outstanding communication skills (articulate, good writer, strong presenter)
  • Strong team player
  • Strong conceptual skills
  • Familiarity and experience with a variety of product categories
  • Willingness to extrapolate from experience in the absence of data
  • Ability to turn knowledge of how a target thinks into insights/ideas
  • Passion for the target, the brand, and for developing great advertising
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of Account Planning experience
