Position Summary:

BioPharm Communications has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Business Development.  The Director of Business Development is responsible for promoting BioPharm’s proprietary products to pharmaceutical brand teams and their assigned agencies to increase BioPharm program sales.  Candidate will be expected to articulate BioPharm’s repositioning from a tactical solutions supplier to a fully integrated, data driven multi-channel marketing partner.  The Business Development Director’s primary territory will include northern California.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive business growth for BioPharm with new and existing accounts through live client meetings
  • Build relationships with Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Medical Device Brand Managers, both new and existing, as well as their assigned agencies, to promote BioPharm multi-channel marketing capabilities
  • Commitment to a disciplined, diversified and effective prospecting approach to generate new business leads
  • Work with BioPharm senior management, sales leadership, strategic partners (agencies, consultants, etc) to strategize and prepare account level sales approach and solutions
  • Lead the development process of strategic campaign recommendations that incorporate multiple BioPharm solutions (working with internal BioPharm specialists)
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Sales Operations to price and build tactical program recommendations
  • Analyze client goals, objectives, needs, and existing infrastructure to determine best BioPharm solution
  • Manage contact database and utilize Salesforce to track progress and forecast sales opportunities
  • Quickly learn and become proficient with the BioPharm interdepartmental process for kicking off programs
  • Be an ambassador for BioPharm by creating partnerships, attending industry networking events, participating in speaker engagements, develop thought leadership.
  • Bring experience as a dynamic facilitator and presenter.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years of sales experience in healthcare communications covering pharma and biotech accounts with an emphasis on digital marketing
  • Must have a proven track record of developing and retaining healthcare industry relationships
  • Experience and strong understanding of the digital marketplace and multi-channel marketing (MCM)
  • Proven success track record of sales activity
  • Must be highly motivated, dynamic and have a relentless focus and commitment to reach decision makers
  • Strong pre-call planning and ability to propose strategic solutions
  • Well versed in pharma marketing, promotional education, digital marketing, non-personal promotion, multi-channel marketing and data/analytics
  • Experience with Salesforce.com
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Proven time management skills, including successful track record of meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent sales presentation skills with clients, as well as strong listening and analytical skills
  • Excellent attendance record and schedule flexibility to meet client deadlines
  • Strong team player
