    Overview:  Editorial Supervisors manage editorial workflow and serve expertly as lead editors for multiple brands. Editorial Supervisors will be well versed in the science of their brands and their brands’ competitors, their clients’ style, AMA style, and English grammar and usage. Editorial Supervisors are expected to model the four core values of substance, style, conviction, and grace. With an eye for detail, Editorial Supervisors work with their brand teams to ensure that the highest quality of work is being produced. They also review more junior editors’ work and provide constructive feedback.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage editorial workflow and act as lead copy editor for multiple brands
    • Review more junior editors’ work and potentially supervise other editors
    • Play an important role in ensuring high utilization/productivity across the Editorial Department
    • Copy edit, fact-check, and proofread a variety of promotional and educational materials for patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals from manuscript through print or digital production
    • Work closely with Account Services, Copywriters, Art Directors, and other team members to ensure that digital and print materials are of the highest quality in terms of accuracy, utility, clarity, readability, and appeal
    • Help Copywriters and Account team with research and article retrieval
    • Create and maintain brand style guides

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Five years’ copyediting experience in a pharmaceutical advertising agency, in-house agency, or medical publishing company preferred. Will consider candidates with copyediting experience in other fields
    • Working knowledge of AMA Manual of Style, 10th edition required
    • Articulate oral and written communication skills essential
    • Good working knowledge of English grammar and usage
    • Curiosity/interest in medical topics essential
    • Organization and attention to detail essential
    • Experience using Adobe Acrobat to copyedit is a plus
