    Junior Copywriter

    The Junior Copywriter is responsible for using his/her writing and referencing skills to enhance the Agency’s copy offerings to the Client. With manager supervision, the Jr. CW is expected to develop his/her writing, referencing and annotating skills, presentation skills, and conceptual abilities and to understand the copy platform for each assigned account.



    Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate ability to develop creative work that is on strategy, with close manager supervision and guidance
    • Demonstrate strong conceptual potential
    • Demonstrate excellent writing skills
    • Attend regular status meetings
    • Prepare and submit work for Med/Legal and DDMAC approval
    • With manager supervision and guidance:


    Develop adequate understanding of market research to create test materials and be an effective research attendee


    Develop ability to accurately reference and annotate all work


    Develop knowledge of Client's business-both the brand itself and people involved


    Develop presentation skills and gain confidence presenting to others


    • Work closely with editors to ensure accuracy in all work
    • Research medical and scientific information that pertains to Agency brands
    • Interact daily with traffic, art directors, and account executive or Assistant AE
    • Maintain positive relationships with internal business group departments such as Editorial and Traffic
    • Understand the job flow process - follow jobs from startup into production
    • Ensure all final products released are of a superior quality
    • Assist copywriter or senior copywriter on various tasks/projects
    • Demonstrate ability to set priorities while handling multiple tasks
    • Communicate effectively and professionally with both Clients and Staff
    • Keep supervisor up-to-date on all projects
    • Perform other duties as assigned by manager

    • College degree
    • Proficiency with word processing programs
    • Copywriter portfolio, other writing samples or "spec" portfolio
    • Knowledge, background and/or interest in medicine/science
    • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
    • Professional image
