    Managing UX Designer/Information Architect


    We are looking for a UX/IA lead to join our rapidly growing Digital Strategy team. The Managing UX Designer/IA will work closely with their Digital Strategy colleagues and the Creative Department as part of an integrated team. He/she will be responsible for leading and developing other UX team members and collaborate with the SVP, Director Digital Strategy to evolve the UX/IA practice at the agency.


    He/she will participate in discovery and brainstorm sessions, create content maps, wireframes and mockups, and advise the creative team to ensure UX/IA best practices are applied when organizing content, determining navigation, designing layouts and building prototypes. Projects span across all types of digital media—websites, emails, interactive banner ads, gamified convention experiences, web apps, chatbot interfaces, and more!


    The Managing, UX Designer/IA will be responsible for studying and learning the client-provided digital build guideline and requirement documents, as well as the internal creative style and branding guidelines in order to ensure UX/IA best practices are pulled through during the digital development process of tactics assigned. He/she should have a strong foundation in UX design and Information Architecture and be proficient in pulling through those principles strategically to achieve business goals.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Envision and develop intuitive, scalable, and engaging interactions and experience designs for multiple digital platforms (responsive web, iPad, convention panels, etc)

    • Create content maps, wireframes, user flows, and prototypes (low and high fidelity) to communicate with the internal team, development partners, and clients

    • Collaborate with Art directors to create innovative and user-friendly interfaces when bringing wireframes/mockups to layout

    • Develop and maintain features that align to standards, brand integrity, and UI best practices

    • Work with cross-functional teams (project manager, account services, operations, editorial, etc) to review and approve deliverables

    • Attend status meetings, kick-offs, and internal/client reviews of digital work

    • Effectively communicate rationale of deliverables (features, functionality, design, user interface, strategy) from a user experience perspective to internal teams and to the clients

    • Develop functional specifications to effectively communicate features and functionality to the development team and other agency partners (SEO, paid search, etc) in accordance with client directives


    Additional Requirements
    • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) to synthesize and incorporate feedback appropriately with a user-centered focus

    • Understand business goals, product roadmaps and KPIs, and user insights in order to translate into clear UX priorities

    • Excellent understanding of user experience design for the web, technology trends, demonstrable design skills, and ability to show relevant work

    • Understands principles of content hierarchy and organization and how it affects overall navigation/UX

    • Familiarity with taxonomies, tagging and metadata

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups and defend your design decisions

    • Stay current with the latest design and technology trends across web, desktop, and mobile platforms, and adopt modern techniques as appropriate

    • Strong attention to detail and organization skills

    • Assist with trainings for the agency on digital best practices and guidelines

    • Must have completed an established UX/IA program from an established educational organization

    • 3+ years of experience as a user experience designer, user interface designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role

    • Proficiency in a variety of UX software tools such as Omnigraffle, Sketch, and Principle as well as design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

    • Proficiency in creating websites from online templates (Squarespace, Wordpress, etc)

    • Familiarity with user-interface guidelines and best practices for major platforms (HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, iOS, Android, MacOS, Windows) and an understanding of the capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs of various technologies
