    Summer Internship Program - Junior Editor


    The Opportunity: Junior Editor internship with an agency in the Omnicom Health Group network.  We are looking for interns that are open to exploring new ideas & opportunities, making bold leaps that will push boundaries, and are generous with their ideas, time, and passion. In addition to tackling real client work, interns will have the opportunity to work on cross-agency projects with fellow interns, go on a fieldtrip or two, eat lots of great food, and attend breakfast & learn programming hosted by OHG leaders. 

    With a keen eye for detail, you'll help your teams deliver materials of the highest quality to clients. You'll get to know the campaigns inside and out, working behind the scenes as a key member of a brand team. You'll know the copy and the science behind the brand, applying your expertise to elevate the messages we develop. And, crucially, you'll be a steadfast teammate and colleague who approaches work with patience, passion, and precision.

    What does it mean to be a Junior Editor: 

    • While working closely with Editorial and Account, you will:
      • Develop an eye for style and information design
      • Become proficient in various client submission portals as you assist the Copy department by tagging and linking (T/L) their client submissions
      • Develop a deep understanding of AMA editing style and how we apply it to the materials we produce
      • Learn to effectively communicate with various departments
    • Daily responsibilities start with:
      • Organizing tagging and linking calendar with Project Management and Copy
      • Collaborating with Copywriters to tag and link submissions 
      • Developing your medical copyediting skills through on-the-job training as you assist with edits and fact checks
    • The team also relies on you to: 
      • Attend hot sheet and team meetings
      • Assist the Editorial Director on taks to helo improve workflow and efficiency in the department
      • Increase your skill set and knowledge of the industry through courses taught and offered by OHGU
    • This role helps you advance by:
      • Providing you with training, mentoring, and a view of many of our projects (through tagging and linking) not seen by everyone
      • Introducing you to regulatory requirements and terminology
      • Giving you a broad survey of all the work that passes through the agency, as Editorial sees almost every project at various stages of development


    This is a full-time, paid internship (40 hours/week). The full internship program period will be from June 3, 2019 - August 2, 2019. 

    College students in their junior or senior year are encouraged to apply. Your agency assignment will be determined by the Intern Placement Committee.
