    Freelance Senior Project Manager, Digital (SPM)

     

    The SPM manages the full life cycle, and efficient delivery of digital projects across brands, from requirements development through production by working with internal strategy, creative, user experience and development teams.  The SPM is also responsible for navigating and managing external development teams and other third party vendor relationships in order to ensure project delivery that is within time, scope, budget, and client expectations.

     

    The SPM reports to the Project Management Supervisor/Group Supervisor and must be a proactive individual who can multi-task, foster a positive team atmosphere, and confidently lead.

     

     

    Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Manage project(s)/ project account(s) independently on a day-to-day basis
    • Develop and demonstrate creative and strategic thinking skills
    • Develop/ lead the development of thorough project documentation including: digital tactical briefs, assumptions documentation, business rules/functional specifications/user experience documents and statements of work
    • Define resources, project deliverables and milestones for project implementation
    • Manage client expectations at all times to foster effectiveness/productivity
    • Provide input to and draft digital sections of the agency tactical plan
    • Become integral part of client team with client facing responsibilities in order to ensure that the client is updated and briefed on all relevant project activity
    • Meet/manage all client deadlines
    • Actively monitor project budget
    • Effectively lead internal meetings (i.e. discovery, status meetings, job start-ups, etc.), making important, relevant contributions, and generate workable conclusions
    • Keep senior management briefed on project activities
    • Develop a knowledge of brand strategy, objective and goals
    • Clearly interpret and communicate technical concepts in a manner that helps non-technical persons grasp and understand the concept
    • Thoroughly document meeting outcomes and next steps for all meetings that they lead

    • Assist other members of department/team as needed when workload allows
    • Establish credibility and maintain leadership image both internally and externally; convey confidence without over promising

     

    • Understand when it’s appropriate to make decisions independently and when to escalate issues/decisions to manager

     

     

    Qualifications

    • College degree, preferably in marketing, advertising, communications or science/medicine
    • Experience with responsive web sites, emails, banner ads, mobile application development, as well as an understanding/exposure to mobile CRM platforms (i.e. Veeva). Exposure to AEM platform a plus
    • 5-6 years agency or comparable experience
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Well-developed knowledge of business practices/vendor relations
    • Professional image
